The Role
Archax has reached a growth point in its development and an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join the team. They will bring many years of experience supporting a wide variety of systems and technologies preferably from a capital markets environment. The successful applicant will have worked in an environment where internal developers have built trading software.
They will provide a senior technology support function and ongoing project-based engineering work across the technology estate, including desktops, severs, networking, public cloud and applications, both off the shelf and bespoke.
Applicants will have a strong engineering background, be ambitious, bright, motivated and have substantial experience in a highly technical role. They will also be comfortable gaining and maintain professional qualifications.
Archax is a highly regulated fintech scale-up so experience of working in a rapidly evolving fluid company is vital. The successful applicant must have experience in a firm that has delivered product to external customers.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- 10 years + experience as a hands-on Technical Support Engineer/Application Support Analyst
- Providing exceptional 1st/2nd/3rd line support to all levels in the organisation, in office and globally.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Hands-on experience with the administration of Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments for EUD and Server
- Comfortable managing and administering business systems e.g. Order management systems, risk management systems etc.
- Networking knowledge to CCNA level
- Hands-on experience administering Office365 platform and applications
- Understanding and experience with the administration of MySQL and PostgreSQL databases
- Experience with task automation, leveraging Python, Bash and/or PowerShell
- Experience in setup and management of Intune
- Experience in setup and management of Microsoft XDR platforms
- Hands on experience with Atlassian Suite administration
- Hands on involvement with implementation of patch management to workstations and servers
- Troubleshooting and implementing Single sign on (SSO) technologies such as Entra, OAuth, OIDC and SAML.
- Experience with monitoring tools – PRTG, Grafana, OpenSearch, Prometheus.
Beneficial Experience:
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services & Azure (certification welcomed)
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/containerised environments
- Experience with No-Code tools such as Retool or Appsmith
- Experience with SOC2/ISO 27001 Certifications.

- Experienced in taking ownership, responsibility and accountability of projects end to end.

- Strong analytical skills including problem solving and solution-orientated thinking

- Degree or relevant industry qualification
