The role

Archax has reached a growth point in its development and an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Third Line Security Systems Engineer to join the team. They will bring many years of experience supporting a wide variety of systems and technologies preferably from a capital markets environment. The successful applicant will also have worked in an environment where internal developers have built internal software.

Applicants should see themselves as wanting to grow & develop to become a CISO in 3-5 years time and be willing to work on a programme of development to reach that goal - academically and with project delivery - Archax will work in conjunction with you to plan this programme.

Whilst this is a security focused role. they will still provide a senior technology support function and ongoing project-based engineering work across the technology estate, including desktops, severs, networking, public cloud and applications, both off the shelf and bespoke. 

Applicants will have a strong engineering background, be ambitious, bright, motivated and have substantial experience in a highly technical role. They will also have a strong academic background as being able to write and analyse data is imperative. In addition to technical work they will also be responsible for managing a large number of polices and procedures pertaining to security and data governance.

In addition to their technical ability, they will also be a subject matter expert within the capital markets area, understanding the full capital markets lifecycle of multiple asset classes with exposure to WEB3 and Crypto.

Archax is a highly regulated fintech scale-up so experience of working in a rapidly evolving fluid company is vital. The successful applicant must have experience in a firm that has delivered product to external customers.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:


  • Significant 10 years + experience as a Technical Support Engineer/Application Support Analyst - leaning towards security projects
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
  • Networking knowledge to CCNA level or higher
  • Security experience, hacking, pen testing, auditing with relevant technical qualifications
  • Deep AWS knowledge
  • General system administration skills – desktops, AV, monitoring tools, PBXs, etc
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • A wide exposure and history of tackling security projects within complex environments
